Point #6
True’s interactions with County employees have been described as contributing to resignations and transfers of experienced personnel.
Summary:
Beginning in April 2025, County employees had already started informing the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of concerns regarding an increasingly unhealthy work environment attributed to the actions and inactions of the Prosecuting Attorney.
In July 2025, two Planning and Zoning (P&Z) employees—the Administrator and an Assistant—resigned. In October, a Deputy Clerk also resigned, citing similar concerns. In November 2025, a Building Inspector resigned, and an additional employee transferred from P&Z Administration to Solid Waste to leave the work environment within P&Z.
These staffing losses occurred in addition to the complete removal of the P&Z Commission on July 10, 2025.
As of March 2026, concerns regarding a chaotic and strained work environment remain. The County has experienced the loss of multiple skilled and experienced employees, contributing to a significant reduction in institutional knowledge and operational continuity.
Concerns have also been raised regarding a lack of timely intervention and effective management by the BOCC. The cumulative impact of these issues has affected workforce stability and the County’s ability to effectively serve the public.
